Squamish sits right on Highway 99 — the Sea to Sky Highway — one of the most scenic drives in Canada, hugging the coastline between Vancouver and Whistler.
Driving from Vancouver
- Distance: ~65 km north of Vancouver.
- Time: About 45–60 minutes, traffic depending.
- The drive itself is an attraction — pull over at Shannon Falls and the Tantalus Lookout along the way.
From Whistler
- Squamish is ~45 minutes south of Whistler — an easy add-on to a Whistler trip.
Without a car
- Shuttle services run daily between Vancouver (and YVR airport) and Squamish/Whistler.
- Book a shuttle in advance in peak season.
Heading to the backcountry or Garibaldi Park? Parking lots fill early on summer weekends — arrive before 8am or take a guided tour with transport included.
