How to Get to Squamish, BC

Driving from Vancouver, shuttle options, and travel tips for reaching Squamish on the Sea to Sky Highway.

The Sea to Sky Highway

Squamish sits right on Highway 99 โ€” the Sea to Sky Highway โ€” one of the most scenic drives in Canada, hugging the coastline between Vancouver and Whistler.

Driving from Vancouver

  • Distance: ~65 km north of Vancouver.
  • Time: About 45โ€“60 minutes, traffic depending.
  • The drive itself is an attraction โ€” pull over at Shannon Falls and the Tantalus Lookout along the way.

From Whistler

  • Squamish is ~45 minutes south of Whistler โ€” an easy add-on to a Whistler trip.

Without a car

  • Shuttle services run daily between Vancouver (and YVR airport) and Squamish/Whistler.
  • Book a shuttle in advance in peak season.

Heading to the backcountry or Garibaldi Park? Parking lots fill early on summer weekends โ€” arrive before 8am or take a guided tour with transport included.
